low volume! The video format this time is AVI+MP3

Postby kwokwai » 27 Apr 2007 19:43

Hi, I got a problem about a video I downloaded from a web site.
The video is of AVI formatted with MP3 composing its audio part.
When I played it in Windows Media Player 10, the volume was so low.
I used to think this problem would only happen on those videos with AAC or AC3.

I tried VLC then, and the problem seemed have been improved a little bit, still the volume is far lower than the level that I can accept. I got to switch the volume of my PC speakers to 2/3 of its maximum output.

Did I have missed any CODEC?

I have got AC3 CODEC only.

Any suggestions

The file was probably recorded with low volume or transfered from ac3.

Turn up the volume :?:

Transcoding the file in VLC will not resolve the issue as this is a source issue for VLC. See the doom9 forums or http://www.videohelp.com for tools that can help you transcode the file and correct the problem.
