WMP11 for VLC (Released!)

Hello,
I am very new to linux. So please bare with me on this. I have been trying to configure everything to my liking. I just got my desktop theme the way I like it and the next big thing is my music.

Now I have been looking at the different offers the media players for linux has. And by far I like vlc the most. Then I came accross your skin. I would like to say that I love it alot, and edited my theme to match....kinda.

Sorry for the intro, but here's the problem. I will start watching a movie in vlc. But when I switch to the playlist, the movie stops. I wanted to know if that is your skin, or is it my config for vlc? Please help me.

Unfortunately, this is a problem with VLC. I stumbled upon this bug when first creating the skin here. The developers have stated that the bug is very hard to track down. You can read more information here.

Any skin that switches layouts (IE, from the play window to a playlist window) will cause strange things to happen. I think for the .9 version the entire way video is displayed is changing, so here's hoping it will be fixed soon.

Yes, VLC version 0.9.0 is better. With the new QT4 interface, not to mention many bug fixes, it will display the playlist and the the video in a preview window, you can also switch to the video window from the playlist and the video never stops.

Just noting a point. It seems that with WMP11 skin on 0.8.6b when I press the window maximize button, player goes into full screen mode. Is it a feature or just an oversight?
In total your theme is simply brilliant and looks like one of the best polished one around.

Well, with .8.6b, there is no maximize function available, so the maximize button goes full screen. With .9.0, there is a maximize function available for us to utilize. You should read this thread in its entirety for details on the new features available with .9.0.

I found this skin under 8.6c broke the Always on top feature, is this corrected under 0.9?

There won't be any further released versions of this skin until panels are added to the VLC .8 codebase (unlikely), or until VLC .9 is released. Too many functions are now dependent on new features introduced into VLC that the skin simply won't work without .9, and .9 is not yet ready for human consumption.

Skins do not support the extended GUI functions.

Believe me... we (the skin authors) have asked for better skin support, but it appears no one is working on improvements to the skinning engine any longer.

I liked the look of this skin but when VLC loads the skin looks nothing like the one on the web site, must have done something wrong I just used preferences to tell VLC where to find the skin but I get a black and white simple version. I'm running vista if that helps.

This skin loads with no borders in 9.4,just the main video window and some of the control buttons. Then VLC crashes.

Okay so like I just got VLC recently, and personaly, I like it alot, but I want a new skin, THIS skin to be exact, but for some god forsaken reason, everytime I try to use this skin, I get an error report saying that VLC.exe has failed and then I pretty much have to re-install the intire program all over again. So what I'm asking is that what is wrong?! How come I can't use this pimpin' skin?! Help! I am using VLC ver 9.4 ( the most recent from what I know ) and on Windows XP home edition if that helps. Hallo.
The WMP11 skin is great, but not perfect.

There are two things that bother me.
First is the timer. It would be great to see how long the whole movie is (total time). I tinik that shouldnt be to hard to correct. I would even do it myself if someone would tell me how to do it.

And the second problem is the resizing of the window. I can resize iz in the vertical way, but not in the horisontal way. So I can't get the window size i want.

There is another mediaplayer skint that has none of this problems, you can resize it, you see the total time... But ist na old media player 10 skin and what i want is the media player 11 skin.

Is there any possibility to correct this two things in this skin?
