File info/properties is NOT satisfactory/adequate.

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

File info/properties is NOT satisfactory/adequate.

Hi :)

I know that you can get file information when you click "view" and then "Stream and media info" BUT it is not thorough enough :( and it looks a bit messy because the data is variable.
Is it possible to get as much info as when u click "shift+F10" in media player classic or "alt+3" in winamp or BS player.
Like for example:
Video: MPEG2 Video 704x576 (4:3) 25.00fps 9556Kbps [Video]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo 256Kbps [Audio]
Subtitle: DVD Subpicture [Subtitle]
(taken from media player classic)

I can't see much video information with VLC :(

This would be great then I can see which file has the best quality + i can copy and paste the information easily, i can't play VOB files in winamp and i have problems with other players with some files that describe info thoroughly, VLC is the best player it plays anything. It would be great if it also showed all information.

I hope this isn't much trouble to implement.

Thank you for your attention.

You are correct. DVDs do NOT show all this info... but most other formats do.

Not that I'm aware of as I tend to believe it's an omission and not a bug.

Even MPC does not report everything accurately for MPEG. SAR and or DAR are not reported properly, while MPlayer reports this correctly.
