Again, this is one of those cosmetic user interface changes in the currrent version which is a total waste of man-hours.I found the feature in the new player (right-click on "1.00x")
But if someone could tell me the alternative DLL functionname in version 0.9.x for 'VLC_SpeedFaster' and 'VLC_SpeedSlower' I would be very thankful!
Thanks
(BUG: VOB files freeze when speed up playback)
That is not where the playback rate feature belongs and is not intuitive.Well, please open your eyes, since the buttons are still present on both sides of the slider...
Sorry, the slower/faster buttons are still on the interface...That is not where the playback rate feature belongs and is not intuitive.Well, please open your eyes, since the buttons are still present on both sides of the slider...
In fact, that reminds me of the capability Windows Movie Maker has to index forward and backward, one slide/picture at a time, within its editing menu.
That Windows Movie Maker feature is a useful feature and would more likely belong at either end of the progress bar.
As a separate additional possibility, the ability to simply Playback video in reverse direction might be useful.
To have someone change up the user interface and make existing functionality harder to find is a complete waste of man-hours. The person could have done something useful and the VLC project managers allowed resources to be wasted.Sorry, the slower/faster buttons are still on the interface...That is not where the playback rate feature belongs and is not intuitive.Well, please open your eyes, since the buttons are still present on both sides of the slider...

No, this is not the point. To have someone change up the user interface and make existing functionality harder to find is a complete waste of man-hours. That is the point here.
Open source can be made to work on a Demand basis, with proper management.Open source software doesn't work with managers setting features...
That is what you don't get.
nObviously, this is leading to wrong decisions being made and resources being wasted.
Listening to the customer can help focus development.
And when you are finished developing something that is really being requested by users,
you will feel so much better.
If you really believe we changed the interface just for pleasure, you are trully stupid.Everyone has customers, whether they are paying or not.
However, if you harbor hostility toward your customer, or toward customers in general, or against all of humanity, perhaps you are the one who does not belong here.
Maybe you should pursue another line of endeavor.
I did not create this topic, but as I recall, this topic is the result of a line of endeavor in messing around with the VLC user interface which I believe was a waste of VLC man-hours, the sole result of which was to make existing features harder to find.
