Dolby TrueHD doesn't passthrough on new Homatics Box R 4K Plus

The Homatics Box R 4K Plus (homatics.com) is a new device with Android TV 11 that sports Dolby TrueHD passthrough support, but VLC doesn't pass it through to my AV receiver when the passthrough option is ON, no audio is output.

Even if the device didn't have support for that audio codec, VLC should decode it to multichannel PCM when the passthrough option is ON, however, when the option is OFF, it decodes TrueHD as multichannel PCM.

I'm using the stable 3.5.2 version downloaded from the Play Store.

My Chromecast has also no sound when playback MKV over NAS with Dolby encoded files! I tried enable or disable 'passthrough' function. Unfortunately, The problem still exist!

By the way, my friend Apple TV 4K HDR is work fine with same video files!

Dolby encoded files

Can you specify what Dolby codec you refer?

Dolby has three audio codecs for media playback, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos is not a codec but metadata inside Dolby Digital Plus and TrueHD.

I think Dolby sound effect cannot passthrough affected by 'Android TV OS 12'! You can see the chromecast most of settings are changed! especially of sound setting. Even I change 'Select Format' to 'automatic' or 'manual'. The problem of Dolby sound effect is still exist! (VLC 3.5.3)

PS: plex and NOVA Video Player are no problem of this issue
