Hello? Please forgive me if this post is in the wrong forum. This is my first post.
OS: Windows 7 & 10, two separate desktop computers
VLC RELEASE: 3.0.16, 3.0.17, 3.0.18
ISSUE: Open Network Stream: No YouTube download. No error popup. Blank screen with VLC logo.

Background:
1. I have been using the venerable VLC media player for years, which always downloaded YT videos seemlessly.
2. The issue started Wednesday, November 16, 2022, @ 4:30 P.M., Pacific Time
3. VLC Release 3.0.16 downloaded YT videos seemlessly until Wednesday, November 16, 2022 @ 4:30.
4. Thursday, November 17, 2022, downloaded VLC Release 3.0.17. Same issue. No YT video download.
5. Today, Friday, November 18, downloaded VLC Release 3.0.18. Same issue. No YT video download on the Open Network Stream, just a blank VLC screen with VLC logo.

Please note, I did NOT adjust any of the VLC settings, when downloaded directly from the VLC website.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Lotesdelere for your timely reply and the spot on links that address the ISSUE I am having, that apparently others are experiencing the exact same ISSUE: VLC Open Network Stream - No YouTube video download.

Also, next time I visit the forum, I will "search" for key terms regarding an ISSUE(s) that I am experiencing, before I post.

Thanks to all who posted to the Forum regarding the exact same ISSUE I am experiencing, that I found in the links that Lotesdelere posted in the reply, which confirms to me that the ISSUE is not unique to me, such as my computers, high-speed Internet connection, geographical locality, weather patterns, or other phenomenon unique to me.

SOLUTION: Per the information posted on the links that I read regarding the ISSUE I am experiencing, I look forward to an updated lua script.

Issue fixed

-Updated to lastest verison of VLC

-Downloaded https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/ ... line=false

- Renamed file to " youtube.luac "

- dropped file in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\playlist , making sure to move/replace the existing file

- restart VLC
