AUDIO LAG WITH 2.x.x

Postby bonix90sniper » 22 Aug 2012 03:38

Hi all, for 2 week i've always had audio problem with all vlc 2.x.x versions. When i play any kind of file (mp3, mp4, flv, avi, wmv...) i can hear the audio lag every 4-5 seconds. After i've discovered this issue, i've installed vlc 1.1.9 (a random version before 2.x.x) and now i have no more audio problems. There have never been any problems with others players like MPC-HC or WMP, i've tried to change every single option in vlc but nothing, nisba, zero. Please help me, i need vlc. Thank you for your support and sorry if my English is not perfect i'm italian unfortunately!

change your power management settings one time to something else, then change them back (in windows). This workaround may help for you.

If it doesn't, disable power management in the bios, reboot, enable it in the bios, reboot, that does work as a workaround.

ok, next option.
Change the audio output to Win32 waveOut extension output, restart VLC, set it back to Default, restart VLC.

If that doesn't work, check your audio drivers and see if you have the latest version. Realtek HD audio in particular seems to have this problem in my area, my own (working non-stuttering) computer has got driverset version 5.10.0.6104 dated 05-05-2010 (RtkHDAud.sys version 5.10.0.6291).

It seems there's no other option than to wait for an update from either VLC or Realtek.

Thank you very much, now i'm going to keep the 1.1.9 vlc version, it seems to be stable (better than 2.0.3  ).
