libdtstofloat32_plugin.dll

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

libdtstofloat32_plugin.dll

Postby DJ » 09 Nov 2006 06:58

Need a new build of libdtstofloat32_plugin.dll for VLC 0.8.6 11/01/06 onward.

The build from 10/24/06 no longer functions, player crashes.

I would suggest putting a Trac ticket or complaining on vlc-devel for that. Given you're the second biggest poster here, I assume you know how to do that.

Well, I'm not sure this one is worthy of a track ticket. We all know APIs change and reusing older libraries is not recommended. The nightly builds have been working fine with the Oct 24 build up till Nov 1 (onward) of which it crashes that build if DCA is used.

All I was suggesting is a new official VLC 0.8.6 Test 1 build or go into Test 2.

What is the source of the DTS signal ?

This is important because DTS goes trough about 4 modules, so any of them can mess up the signal.

Really doesn't matter! It can be a commercial DTS CD, DVD or Video DVD with DTS audio.

If you remember the nightlys don't have this DLL. So if you want to keep DCA working without using S/PDIF one needs to copy the DLL from an earlier version. The official 0.8.6 Test 1 had a working version until Nov 1

Well duh. Modules are not compatible between versions remember.
The next test will have this. (the nightly server simply doesn't have libdca installed yet).

I would tend to believe the issue here is, I'm aware of what you "mean" in your statement and they are all 0.8.6 aren't they??

But really if you read the whole post you should already know this as well as I do.

I'm not asking for anything, but I am suggesting that the official 0.8.6 Test 1 be updated or lets go into Test 2 as there really should be a method to do all evaluations correctly on the nightly builds. Of coarse the other resolve would be to include the missing module. :)
