since the activex plugin code has not changed before and after this build, I would assume that the crash is somewhere inside VLC, can you describe what you were doing to cause the crash.

i use Y-Web (webinterface for german Dbox2 Sat receiver)..

which use the VLC activex plugin for TV-live viewing inside IE. Maybe i am wrong with the activex failure decision...but i have no other idea. At the moment the VLC-Window should show the live view, IE crash with an idiotic error message..something like ' der Vorgang '6ce?????' kann nicht von Adresse '00000000000' lesen'

What are the differences between the nightly 20060702 and 20060703? Maybe something wrong with libvlc.dll...

Code: Select all

Fehlgeschlagene Anwendung iexplore.exe, Version 6.0.2900.2180, fehlgeschlagenes Modul libvlc.dll, Version 0.0.0.0, Fehleradresse 0x000680dc.
sorry for bad english.

Please report nightly builds breakage (meaning that there is no new build)
the last one is from 04.07.2006

<edit>
thank you for the new nightly. Error still there..

..but only on a Notebook with 256MB Ram...on another big PC with 1GB Ram everthing is fine. What are the differences between the nightlies from 2.7 (ok) and 3.7 (not ok)? There must be a difference...and maybe a _personal_ missconfiguration :roll: :( :? ...sorry for that!
</edit>

VLC is going through a lot of rework at the moment, therefore crashes like the one you are seeing are to be expected, especially on computers with low amount of RAM.
Nighly builds are not always stable (most likely they're not) and can cause crashes.
I would like to thank you for your report but if you don't want to live on the edge (and fall), then I would advise that you re-install 0.8.5, which the last 'official' release.
However, when then test series are released, VLC 0.8.6 should be more stable, and I would advise that you wait till then before using it, and report back to the forum if you are still having problems

Hi,
thank you very much for the answer! I like to test the nightlies and have no problem with errors like that. I still keep on testing and give you a hint, when the error is gone.

Please keep on coding,
peter

:oops: :oops: I am very sorry, but my error reporting here is bullshit!
After creating a new user profile (Windows XP) everything is fine and the nightly from today works like a charm. So, please delete the whole thread...its embarrassing for me :roll: :oops: :oops:

Where can I find information on what upgrades are being done on the latest versions?
