Open Media-Default file folder

Whenever I select the "open media" VLC goes directly to a subfolder within "My videos" folder for my selection. I don't know how to select a default folder for the "open media" selection to open too, but it shouldn't be opening to a subfolder. Should it???? I have just finished unistalling and downloading and installing a fresh copy... It still does it. Thanks for any help.

You can edit the default folder via %appdata%\vlc\vlc-qt-interface.ini by using text editor. filedialog-path is the value you want to change
