Does VLC support .sfv subs?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Does VLC support .sfv subs?

Postby Gatsby » 28 Jan 2004 01:52

...is .sfv EVEN the sub file?!

hi. I've looked thru all the thread with sub help and I still can't get my subs to work with my OGM file.
playback is nice and all, just that I dunno what's being said.

I tried enabling track 1, preferencing at the freetype panel (another problem - it would not let me pick any font at :windows/font/..), loading the sub file in the setting for subtitles...*phew*

currently using 0.70 version with windows 98.

if .sfv is not a subtitle file...let me crawl under a rock.

thanks for looking at this problem.

*speaking from under a rock*
- its NOT a sub file.

this is what I have in the folder:
summer.Xvid.ogm
summer.XviD.sfv
and a .nfo file (I dunno what that is either)

subs appears when I use WMP to play but picture is really laggy and so is the same for BSPlayer.
only VLC plays the file right but no subs.

thanks again.

sfv file is to check the integrity of files...in this case it might be the movie...the nfo file contains ripper's notes and information...
try opening things with notepad..google aslo helps alot in cases like you..

When VLC recongizes the subtitles, they will be available in the menu Video->Subtitles Track when you play the ogm file.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
