empty, aborting/no suitable access module

Postby ohnojulian » 06 Jul 2008 08:46

So here is the crux of the issue:
I have several avi files, split into eleven files. m****.avi.001, etc.

I joined them all using Split&Concat (HJSplit for Macs) creating one file, m****.avi
Tried to open it in Quicktime, "not a movie file." I'd already downloaded Perian for QT, and wasn't really willing to fuss with it, so I turned to the almighty and powerful VLC and got:
ffmpeg: Seeking too far : EOF?
ffmpeg: av_open_input_stream failed
ps: cannot peek
main: no suitable demux module for `file/:///Users/*******/Desktop/m****.avi'

Which of course, confused the hell out of me. Was recommended by a good friend to try Mediainfo for Mac, and resulted in this joyous spit of knowledge:
*** MediaInfo Mac // Plain text file report
2008-07-05 23:42:42 -0700
Information for File: m****.avi

I tried to understand it, but being a little dim, I can't really figure out what codecs I need to finish this up and just watch the darned movie. Help? Please? If you need anymore info, feel free to reply, I hope I've provided enough.
