There seem to be a couple of contributors on the vlc-devel mailinglist and the IRC channel that are working on this.

Goood question.
I can't wait either.
I hated having to pull WMP out of the attic just to scrobble

keep up the great work guys!

I'm unable to find any Last.fm plug-in for the VLC player. Is there such a thing, or do I have to use WMP or Winamp?

AFAIK It won't come to 0.8.6, 0.9.0 has it (Tools -> Preferences... and Interface -> Control interfaces -> Audioscrobbler for username and Interface -> Control interfaces to enable it).

Hi,

I've used the latest nightly build and I can't seem to find anywhere to enter a proxy config, so I can't get scrobbling to my last.fm profile.

Also, when entering the password, it is temporarily exposed.

This is it.

This shouldn't happen IMO.

Also, when I enter my correct credentials I still do not get my tracks scrobbled. (Tested both with
and without a proxy).

I found it  I just assumed there would be username and password lines directly, but I had to tick the box before they showed up.

It would be way cool, if it would also support Last.fm controls and not only scrobbling.

It's so easy to wish for more. ;) Then I could get rid of my last.fm player on Windows & Linux.

Although on other hand, I also hate bloat ware and adding too many (unnecessary?) features.

First, try the scrobbling, If you can assure me it works on a CLEAN VLC install from latest NB, then I will look at the controls.

Hi,
I would be very glad if vlc supported lastfm. I found the preferences to enter my lastfm login data. But how do I actually tune in? I tried all sorts of url fragments I took from lastfm website or Thelastripper trying to open a network stream but I can´t get a connection to the radio...
Thanks
Platon

Hi everybody here!
It doasn't seem to work with VLC 0.9.1. By the way, should I leave the last.fm player on to use scrobbling? I'd like to shut off it..
Thanks for fine work

VLC's Audioscrobbler plugin is completely separate to the Last.fm Client - it is not needed to scrobble.
It doesn't work on what version ?
Just tried it with a standard 128kbps MP3 file - the (correctly) given length was 2:46, however on submitting the output was:

Code: Select all

audioscrobbler debug: Song too short (< 30s), not submitting
EDIT: Just tried again and it started the submission however crashed:

Code: Select all

audioscrobbler debug: Handshake successfull :) audioscrobbler debug: Going to submit some data...
This is using VLC 0.9.2-test BTW :).
END OF EDIT.

Arite.
