Seperate Playlist from Player window?

I was originally going to post about the Media Information only displaying the first video seen in a session, rather than the current video. I then read that it looks at whatever is selected in the playlist. So, good to know, as much as I despise having the playlist at all.

Is there a way to separate the playlist from the player window so it can be accessed while a video is playing/visible?

Yes, absolutely. Uncheck the "Show video within the main window" option in the Interface section of VLC and restart the app
