Fade-in and Fade-out effect on Pause

Hello guys!

Is it possible to overlay a black image when I pause my video and then remove this image when i resume it again?
It would be great if i can use a fade in/out effect as well.

with WebChimera it's pretty possible...

but I actually meant using the libvlc functions.
It seems to be possible by using a Filter (marquee)... I am reading about it

if you are ready to use libvlc directly - you could try QmlVlc (WebChimera based on it) look http://www.webchimera.org/demos/ to see capabilities of this approach....
