Jump to next file in directory

Some media players have a nice feature where you can jump to the next file in a directory using a hotkey (when the playlist only contains one file). Could it be implemented into VLC?

I would also love this option. I'm used to this feature from Media Player Classic but have recently switched over to a mac, and haven't been able to find any other comparable player except VLC. Unfortunately my job has me with a steady stream of constantly changing folders of video clips I need to view, and having to make new playlists everyday instead of just opening one file and being able to skip forward (or back) between videos with one or two keystrokes is already getting tiresome. I love VLC so far, and would hate to have to switch over to yet another player just for that inconvenience.
