Extended GUI Settings Keep Getting Forgotten

i am using the latest version 0.8.6a and i will open a movie and adjust brightness and stuff and then when i close VLC and open it next time the settings arent remembered. this is a problem cause for some odd reason everything that is movie or game related is always darker on my monitor and ive tried different monitors too. so i adjust the brightness and i just want it to stay where i put it at. the extended gui isnt even enabled when i reopen VLC either.

This is normal for most video card monitor combinations.

Open Preferences and press Save.

You can also adjust the Overlay settings on your video card. VLC uses real filters but does read the overlay settings.

thanks that worked.
maybe a small save settings button could be added to that Extended GUI window in future or something. i dunno.
