Amino STB

Postby kizovani » 23 Jan 2007 17:26

Hi
I'm new here and I have few questions about VLC and streaming.
Anyway I set up on my home network vlc streaming server. From PC to pc (of course inside of my home network) is working great. I set up win 2000 server like vlc streaming server. I want to buy aminonet 130 stb but I'm not sure how I can set it up to watch stream on tv? People from amino telling me that I need ir keyboard with stb box. Is that true?
Or can you tell me where in North america I can buy another stb which will work with vlc?

Thanks

The IR qwerty keyboard is only about $20 more and you can use the
STB for SOME web surfing. (not all sites work esp those with flash)
http://www.goamt.com in Florida is a good place. The 130 had some problems
but ask your rep. I like to get the 125 because of WM9.
You need the remote to setup your IP address if not using DHCP and to key
in URLs or "Channels". The nice thing about channels is you can use the
remote to access them.

Hauppage MediaMVP is another device but don't have one.

Thanks for response "rcourtney"
yup u r right I think hauppauge mediamvp is much better and cheaper solution for my problem and in the box is medai cd. I was reading reviews for this product and people said it is very simple and powerfull piece of hardware. I think I'll go with it.

Thanks
