***HELP***Green screen while watching***

Ok, i have had VLC for a long time now, and recently i am getting a green screen when ever i play any video...here is some info that i got when i play a video by pressing crtl i

Resolution: 620x256
Frame rate: 23.976000

Codec: mpga
Language
Type: Audio
Channels: 2
Sample rate: 48000 Hz
Bitrate: 112 kb/s

Setting: HAS_INDEX IS_INTERLEAVED


I can hear the sound fine, it is just the picture that is messing up.

Try deleting VLC's preferences folder.

ok, i will try that, but when i reinstalled it, i deleted my preferences

If that doesn't work for you then update your video and or audio drivers.
