Need help fast about my player thanks...

Hey i just reinstell my windows xp yesterday but the problem is when i instell my Kcodec pack. when i open my AVI divx xdiv and so on they are alot darker and look not good as before. what is wrong??? but when i open my VLC player the video quility is the same good bright and the picture is great... plz help me with this problem asap

Becuase when my video quility changes IT IS SAD... and i think you get how i feel. it is like watching a 32" lcd tv and the went back to a CRT tv
plz help...

and o yes i mostly watch my video on windows media player and VLC as a portable player

Just to be clear: you're asking on the VLC forum why video plays well on VLC after a re-install but poorly in Windows Media Player?

Update you display adapter drivers (and chipset drivers if you have AGP card).

Codec packs suck! This is one of the worst things you can do to be sure Direct Show won't work. But all the codec packs in the world shouldn't effect VLC because it's NOT a Direct Show player.
