Subtitle and fullscreen problems...

Postby Rakielis » 31 Dec 2006 05:51

now, i have a feeling that these are common problems, but i did a search and nothing seemed to be MY problem...so, well...here they are...

1- Subtitles of certain filetypes no longer appear. i have a movie in AVI with subtitles, and i KNOW it has subtitles, cause i watched it with them...but the option no longer appears. ogm files still have that option for me, but this movie no longer does (its my only avi with subtitles, but the whole thing is pretty much uselesss with out them).

2- the full screen menu doesnt appear ON TOP of the video any more. like, i dont expect a WMP quality menu, but when i right click, nothing happens. i have to cntrl alt dlt out of full screen to stop watching the video. now, the part that weirds me out, is that when i finally do get the player closed (it actually just closes the video, not the audio), THEN i can see the menu. so basically, when i right click, the menu appears...but it appears UNDER the video and i cant really manage to click anything that way =\

so ya....any help?

AVI doesn't reliably support subtitles, it's a hack called DivX. Generally with a .divx extension or file type. VLC does NOT support DivX subtitles.

Vobsub subtitles can also be embedded to AVI, but as said embedding subtitles to AVI ain't good solution.
