0.86 -> jerky playback

Hi,

i have a jerky playback with vlc - there short breaks every couple of minutes, no matter what resolution, format or audio (stereo or 5.1) is used.

when playing the same movies with qt-player, i have no such problems. (but qt can´t play 5.1...)

i use the standard settings with vlc 0.86 and i have a macmini 1,83GHz CD, 1GB RAM.

Any hints?

I have the same problem.

I have jerky playback on both my MacBook Core Duo and my Mac Pro, both running 10.4.8.

Have been jerky on FLAC and MP3 files since 0.8.5. Have tried 0.9.0-svn also with same problem.

But I have no jerky playback on movie files.
