Playing WMV in the .avi container with version 0.8.6 I'm getting only sound and the error that there exists no proper codec for "fourcc 'WMV3'"... still no WMV support? What's going on?
Thanks!
Fox
VLC could not recognize the .avi header. The file is unplayable. (Usually broken download)I joined this group today to try and discover why I can not play .avi files using the latest (0.8.6) version of VLC.
I tried to play the file that Solidfox showed using VLC but got this message "ps: cannot peek main: no suitable demux module"
Any help would greatly appreciated.
A WMV3 aviHere's one of the files that won't play, see if it works with your VLC: http://kazeshin.spymac.com/SDK1.avi
Hah isn't that great? I have like 5 anime series I can't watch because of this. :\I get this problem when I try to watch certain anime encodes. The problem always seems to be that the file, usually an .avi file type, has an embedded WMV video codec. I can get sound through VLC player fine though. The funny thing is that I can see video with no sound on Quicktime, and sound with no video on VLC.
