won't go in task bar

Postby rhodeye » 19 Dec 2006 18:30

The player does not show up in my task bar. i can get it to play radio stations but if I minimize it I can not get back to it to cange stations or turn it off unless I use fthe cnt./alt./delete buttons on the keyboard. I have to leave it visible on my moniter. I put the icon in the task bar but when i use it it allows me to start anothe station but doesn't allow me to turn off or change the old one.

I think he meant VLC version? Windows version? Has nothing to do with Explorer version.

I installed 8.6 and now I can get the shoutcast TV besides the radio but I still have to use CNT/ALT/delete to turn it off and am unable to change channels if I minimize the boxes to try to put them in the taskbar. The boxes won't appear there. I just won't minimize the boxes. I'll put my other programs over the top of them. Thanks

Try right clicking instead of left clicking.

I tried right clicking

Postby rhodeye » 26 Dec 2006 22:48

I tried right clicking the minimize buttons but that didn't work either. However, I ran into a worse problem. I couldn't get the adult video streamers I always could get after downloading the 8.6 version. Could that have caused the problem? I think they are MPEG. A page came on which said - cannot find page(or something like that) error DNS error or server not found. I downloaded the Real Player and that allowed me to see those trailers(streamers) again but It takes about 20 or more seconds to load them. Before there was no time needed to see them. Any idea what the problem was? The way it is now the Real Player keeps coming on when I view the trailers. I'd really like to get back to the way it was which I think was the Windows Media Player. Would I have to uninstall the Real Player. if I do I'm likely to have the same problem. I'd like to keep all three players(Windows Media, VidioLAN, and Real Player). How do I choose which one I want to use to try to view the trailers? I also uninstalled The 8.5 version. could that have deleted some neccesay cedecs? Thank you
