Ctrl+D

Postby jpk236 » 19 Dec 2006 17:01

This shortcut does not work for me. (VLC v0.8.6)

It's supposed to open the "Open Disc..." window.

Can anyone else verify that it doesn't function properly?

It's a VLC shortcut, or is supposed to be.

If you open up VLC and click on the File menu, Ctrl+D is clearly marked as being the intended shortcut to open up the "Open Disc..." window.

Ctrl+N doesn't work either on 0.8.5 (haven't tested on 0.8.6).

Thanks for opening a ticket!

I know it’s a mundane issue, but every little fix makes VLC better and more complete.

Maybe I've found the origin of the problem.
When I was trying to put up my messages screen (ctrl+m) and my playlist (ctrl+p) I saw in my messageswindow that ctrl+m is assigned to 'Go to DVD Menu'.
Maybe this is also the case with the other hotkeys, that they have been overwrited with another one. :?:

Well, I've spoken to someone who seems to know a little more about it.
The thing to blame is WxWidgets, it can react in different ways while the circumstances are the same. Since VLC won't be using WxWidgets anymore by the launch of 0.9.0, they've said that problems with WxWidgets won't be solved, because it takes to much time. (and it is to dependent to the configation of an OS)
