1680x1050 VLC graphics stuff up

At 1680x1050 the VLC graphics stuff up, lines start appearing and the video splits up in different areas of the screen.

ATI x1800xt
Vista 64bit RTM

how can i fix this?

(same thing happens in mpc, maybe a driver problem?)
