VLC v0.8.6 documentation formating broken

Postby markh1289 » 14 Dec 2006 06:19

Hi,

The offline HTLM has most pictures missing.

The PDF has many pictures truncated on right of page.

RTF has no pictures.

On-line HTML only one that looks usable.

I find it amazing there's been no response to this.
Hasn't anyone else noticed this?

Does any care?

We know that. Thanks for the repport, but we are moving the documentation to the wiki, so this is not the principal task, sorry.

So as a new user, who is NOT always connected to net, and thus making wiki unaccessable, not having off-line docs is one reason I stopped using another product for another task. Having a wiki is great for expanding on either a PDF or HTML help, but it should NOT replace it completely.

As a matter of fact, not having a link to the PDF docs from the Help menu caused me to not remember that it existed...yes, having a PDF file is extra work, but I thought there are some wiki-to-PDF or similar utilities avalable.

Any product that one would likely use in an off-line manner should always have off-line docs available...so just how would one easily connect to wiki while travelling in a plane, for example?
