Sound like a machine gun

Postby spade » 09 Dec 2006 12:14

Hello,

I have upgraded to VLC 0.8.5 and now instead of the sound of the video I hear something that sounds like a machine gun. I went back to 0.8.4a, with no change.

This is under WinMe on a laptop with 256 MB RAM and a Mobile Pentium III with 447 MHz.

I had to install the unicows.dll, but removing it when going back to 0.8.4a didn't change it either.

Everything works as it should when using Windows Mediaplayer or Zoom Player.

I really like VLC and would like to be able to use it again.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Frank

VLC 0.8.4 or later requires DirectX 9c with audio and video drivers dated Oct. 04 or later.

How could I overlook this requirement?

Greetings to Hawaii!
