MediaCoder is an open source audio/video batch transcoder, putting together many excellent audio/video softwares from the open source community into one friendly GUI

I don't get your point... Why would you like to intregate a batch transcoder (wich happens to integrate opensource tools, some of wich, i think are already included in vlc) into vlc for?

No, it won't. Mediacoder uses Mplayer and mencoder, wich uses the binary real media codecs (the mediacoder programer includes the binary dll files in the installer, go to your c:\Program Files\MediaCoder\mplayer folder to check it out). Something the videolan team DOES NOT want to do, because they interpret the GPL licence in a way they think real media could sue then to the next millenium if they were to add that.
So, give up and transcode your real media files using mediacoder. It's not that difficult to pull off AND the end result looks very good.
