vlc .86 2a cannot play mkv file

hi i tried playing vlc with this file and it refused. Any tips, is it a setting problem or is it an unsupported codec. here is the crash log fro vlc. Oh i use a mac.

VLC does support both XviD an MP4a (AAC). While this combination is rather strange I can see it working in a MP4 or MKV container. But doubtful it will work in a AVI or ASF container. Oddly enough VLC doesn't seem to believe that it's XviD or that the audio is AAC??? On top of this when VLC reaches an EOF it will stop trying, which it seems to do way early on in the file. With out more info or a second opinion I can't say much more. But if I were to guess, it would be the file isn't what it claims to be (rather unusual for a KAA file) or the file is damaged.
