Help transcoding to WMV for use on Xbox 360

What I need help with is that I heard you could drag a file onto a Batch file and it would convert the file to WMV and you could then play it through the Xbox 360. Could someone tell me how to do this or hoo get a file streaming through the Xbox 360.
