DVD playback from a website

Postby cowgp » 07 Nov 2006 09:38

I have searched the forums and the documentation and whether or not this is possible seems a bit fuzzy... so can anyone provide confirmation?

it appears you can play a DVD with the mozilla plugin by setting the target to dvd://[device] or dvdsimple://[device]... the command line supports this, but does the plugin actually support it?

Secondly... does it already exist or is there anyway to build in support for the plugin to sniff out the [device]? I'm trying to build a site where the site will automatically begin playback of whatever DVD disc is in the their drive. but if I have to know the path of the device manually is that really practical?

any response is greatly appreciated.
