Setting Input Src in Web Interface

Postby TheGabbai » 12 Nov 2006 14:24

Hi All,

I am trying to set the input source via the interface to a directshow source.
I am also trying to set the output via the interface to a single udp destination.

It isn't working.

PC #1: Starts up VLC with: vlc --extraintf http --intf wx
PC #2: A FF browser goes to http:[ip of #1]:8080
PC #3: Has the plugin that gets its target from udp:@:1234

#2 cannot set the input to the DS source (a webcam in this case). The interface seems to only allow input from a file, or udp, http, etc. - but not DS.

#1 sets the input source using "File->Open capture device" from the VLC media player. The view window pops up on #1

#2 can stop and start the webcam (i.e. the view window on #1) using the web interface.

#2 tries to use the web interface and set the output of #1 to the udp address of #3. Nothin happens on #3 which has been waiting to get input from #1.

#1 sets the streaming target using "File->Open capture device" and stream/settings in the Advanced frame from the VLC media player. The output is now seen in #3.

Can somebody explain whey only the start and stop functionality work in the web interface?

Thanks.
