good old times..... - play reverse

Hi folks,
in the days when we had super-8 films many projectors from these days had the feature to play a film reverse... - and that was often very amusing ....
Seems that nowadays in digital-age this feature is gone....
I have not seen yet a DVD player which can play reverse with normal speed, nor the well-known software players like VLC can do.
Is it that hard to code such, or is it just that I'm the only idiot asking for that.....

I think that someone is working on that ... not sure when/if he'll finish though. (And no, it's not a stupid question, just kind of tricky to implement)

If you are under Windows you can try AVIsynth and reverse (won't work on VLC).
