errors VLC on linux Fedora4

well im new to linux, currently learning to use it in class. im geting this error when i try to install linux with the RPM

[root@localhost Desktop]# tar zxf vlc-fc4.tar.gz [root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -ivh fedora/4/i386/vlc/0.8.5/base/*.rpm fedora/4/i386/vlc/0.8.5/contrib/*.rpm

I have almost the same problem.

But there is already a /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 on my FC4, it still reports:libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.6) is needed by dirac-0.5.3-1.i386

Please tell me why, thx
