I tried messing around with some settings but that didn't do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Well, that didn't work.. but thanks anyway!You need more recent ffmpeg with your VLC. You might find a newer version on http://nightlies.videolan.org ... i can't guarantee anything though.
Does anyone know when the next Ubuntu Dapper-Drake release will be? I tried to compile it myself, but couldn't get it to workSolution: update to newer ffmpeg and VLC. But that's not going to happen unless we release a new VLC version i think (which should be pretty soon (less than a month) since we're doing a 0.8.5 bug fix release). Else you could ask the ubuntu VLC package mantainer to recompile it with a newer ffmpeg version.
