suse9.0 videolan player won`t run

Postby tony_stevens » 14 Apr 2004 19:30

Hi!

I can`t get the player to run.
When I open a shell and type kvlc I get this.

tony@linux:~> kvlc
VLC media player 0.7.1 Bond
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: ../sysdeps/generic/dl-tls.c: 72: _dl_next_tls_modid: Assertion `result <= _rtld_local._dl_tls_max_dtv_idx' failed!
tony@linux:~>

Any ideas how to fix this

Tony

Don't luse kvlc. it's pretty much broken. use wxvlc (wxGTK interface of vlc)
Don't use PMs for support questions.

Hi

I still can`t get it to work. I installed using the rpm from packman. Yast say`s that all dependencies are satisfied but all I get is this.

tony@linux:~> vlc
VLC media player 0.7.1 Bond
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: ../sysdeps/generic/dl-tls.c: 72: _dl_next_tls_modid: Assertion `result <= _rtld_local._dl_tls_max_dtv_idx' failed!
tony@linux:~>

My Kernel is 2.4.21-144

I also have the latest NVIDIA graphics driver installed.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Tony

This shows a very similar problem which appears to have been a lidid3tag problem. Try (re)installing that...
