Playback trouble with SSA and OGG

Postby Lodis » 06 Aug 2006 02:40

I downloaded the most recent version of VLC and want to use it to play multimedia files but am having a bizarre problem with certain file types. I was under the impression that VLC supported SSA subtitle files, yet they are not functioning. The SSA files coincide with OGG main body files. The video and audio play fine otherwise, but the subtitles are not being displayed.

Right click on the video while playing the file and select Subtitles. :)

Mock me not, for I have a wrathful soul.

I've gone the right click route for other file types but the subtitle option is not being displayed with this OGG-SSA combo. Is it possible that I have to load the subtitle file separately into VLC player?

When the subtitle option is not displayed there are no subs in the container. If you have a separate sub file it may be loaded using the Open File menu under "Use a subtitles file".

Aye. I think I've got it. You have my thanks.
