what subtitles to use ?

Postby gilo » 03 May 2004 16:57

Hi ,

first congrats to all devs , low cpu , no flash , easy to use just like I love .
Runs perfect on a 1.5 celery , xp , 0.7.1 with no hicups and with better output then media player ( or maybe its just my imagination ? )

well almost perfect ..

I can't seem to use subtitles properly , they either going out of sync ( and I've synced them perfectly with sub workshop ) or that all sudden i get a subtitle line that shouldn't appear stuck and intefering the subs .

Now I tried many sub formats and just can't get it right , tried a little tweaking ( like I have a clue ) , searched this forum ( honestly , refer me to the thread if there is one ) but couldn't find the answer .

What sub format is best used for vlc , please ?

with a stupid question... this time!

After a nice long browse through all these posts... it hit me, duh , name the .srt file the same as the original .srt file. Wouldn't normally think to do this if your downloads come with proper subs but since some come with .sub files I've had to download seperate .srt files... and of course, they aren't named exactly the same. I bet there are a lot of other absent minded folk out there doing the same so I'm posting it nice and clear!

great program, this VLC do-hicky!.
