VLC 0.7.1-Win32 controller resizes itself too small

Updated from 0.7.0 to 0.7.1 [on WinXP] and now the controller window [unskinned] always opens too small to see all the controls.

You can resize it to compensate for this, but when you drop a file on it for viewing it resizes itself too small again. I can't find a way to force it to remember a specific window size, either.

Is there a [hidden] setting for this somewhere?
