This should be an OPTIONAL behavior.
There is NO option to reverse this behavior.

This is optional, you can choose it in the installation process.Since i have installed the last release of VideoLan, it self associated with all audio/video extensions.
This should be an OPTIONAL behavior.
Uninstall and reinstall VLC and this time check the file type associations manually.There is NO option to reverse this behavior.
