How do you get VLC to display subtitles imbedded in a DivX6 movie??

VLC doesn't support DivX 6 Subtitles.

It would be very important to soporte DIVX6 subs. I have tried three Divx players (Tagwood, Omiya, Philips) and all of them display the subs perfectly.

DivX subtitles are very simple, problem is to build new .divx demuxer. I am not sure about current stata of open source divx demuxers (mplayer documentation doesn't have info, or I missed it). Because .divx is backwards compatible with AVI players/demuxers open it as AVI and so miss the new features like audiotracks, subtitles, menus etc.

DivX subs are different than anyone else and it is unlikely that this will be supported anytime soon. The Devs have stated that VLC is not fully compatible with DivX 6 and this seems to revolve around subs and menus. However on a brighter note VLC does support Matroska menus and up to 9 different formats for subtitles. :)
