*SOLVED* no lock, tuning again

Postby pluto70 » 27 Jun 2006 09:37

Hi,

so I finally get dvb-streaming to work, but I still have some little problems.

Every few seconds I get an "no lock, tuning again"

Here the log:

Code: Select all

I'm using Suse 10.1 / Kernel 2.6.16 (from SuSE but with handmake 2.6.17 I have this problem also), VLC-Head and an SkyStark 2 Rev 02

Any ideas?

UPDATE:

I found that after about 30 Mins I lost the signal completly with no stream. If I restart vlc all works like described above.
I forgot to say that using dvdstream works perfect so I can say that I have no problems with card or driver.

Next Update:

If I let femon running and tune with szap to some channel (no matter what channel) ber-rate remains at 0. If I do this with vlc I can see that femon shows up ber-sizes over 0 every few seconds and then vlc show "no lock, tuning agian".

I'm not expert but could it be a problem that vlc can't keep the tuner enabled and the driver-timeout turns off the tuner after some seconds??

I have no idea where to keep searching about this.

Problem has been solved, it was a bug in vlc and was corrected at svn r15960.

Thanks to Dnumgis who found this bug after some tests.
