VLM an the RV24 problem

Postby Gourmet » 31 May 2006 13:21

This problem has already been submitted mny times by the past and has never encountered an answer.
That is:
when using VLC in VLM configuration and asking it to vod a flow coming from a grabber, VLC/VLM claims that it doesn't know the RV24 codec
whereas asking VLC to record the same flow (so the same codec) there is no problem at all!
So, where is the labyrinth's exit asked Alice?

I was able to get this working with a v4l capture device by adding a transcode rule to the output option and waiting to enable it until the end.

For example:

new tv vod
setup tv input v4l:/dev/video:size=320x240:adev=/dev/dsp1
setup tv output #transcode{vcodec=mp4v,acodec=mp4a,vb=512,ab=128}
setup tv enabled

Return to “VLM”
