The exe version of the player is the same as the zip one for the set of functionalities, but it adds a few shortcuts as well as an uninstaller.

To start VLC with the skins interface, you can use the following command-line: vlc -I skins
This should use the default skin, then you can hit Ctrl+S to change your skin.

It's pretty new stuff. Therefore it crashes a lot :)
Don't use PMs for support questions.

What kind of bugs do you find in skins2?
(those of skins1 don't interest me much, since they are deprecated anyway :-))

Crashes when using Skins

Postby dude » 03 Feb 2005 04:27

I have the same problem - Video Lan player crashes usually
after 20 to 30 seconds after playing any video or audio file
when using the skins or skins2 interface.

It works flawlessly when using the default no-skins interface!

skins mode crashes and reports error with the skins library .dll file.

( Windows 98se, pentium-4 @ 1.6Ghz w/ 128MB ram, Direct-x 8.1,
32MB AGP nvidia card with most recent drivers.
PC is virus-free ( AVG7 Free Edition ) & free of "spyware",
compliments of ad-aware personal SE v1.05 & Spbot S&D v1.3 )

Hope the next version of the player has stable skins interface !

Definitely a problem with the coding for using the skins - which is a
shame and disappointment as I really would like to use the skins2 mode!
