SuSe 8.2 : Vlc Problems

Postby Konrad D » 04 Dec 2003 22:21

I am having a few problems getting vlc running on SuSE
When compiling it will not detect ffmpeg although it is installed and running fine. I enabled it using ./confingure --enable-ffmpeg
though it still dosen't play mf Divx files. Is there somthing i am not doing correct?

The other problem is i am not getting an gui interface only command line. Gtk and gnome interfaces seem to be enabled during the configure i even tryed enableing the qt inteface because it is mainly KDE i use but it diddent make a difference. does it need some command line perramiter to get the interface that i dont know?[/code]

Well, could you send us a log, when trying to access a MPEG4 file ?

About you gui issue, you need the wxwindows library and headers to compile VLC's gui (the qt gui isn't maintained anymore).
