Postby burrebever » 15 May 2006 15:41

Hello ppl,
finaly got me a Aminet 110 but I wonder how I set it up?
I can telnet it but where do I create a channellist or something like that?
Using lastest VLC for streaming on multicast address 239.255.x.x
How do I access the stream?
I don't have a IR keyboard, just remote.

those posts I have found in this forum is not helping me.
I don't need to know how to catch a stream but how I setup the amino trough telnet with different multicast addresses.
My only choice is telnet since I don't have a IR keyboard.
All other postes just tell me how the url is looking,
but since I only have the remote I can't write in my browser.

Is there someone how can tell me how to setup a amino trough
TELNET? plz.

Depending upon the software build on your Amino box, you can change the start-up page via telnet by editing the larch.document.default configuration option in the file /mnt/nv/config.txt - By modifying this, you should be able to subsequently establish a start page from which you can link into other local network resources.

I have only been using it through a webpage. With the config.txt file
I can now have it powerup to my webpage. I was using Live555 to add
stream files and then writing html to create a menu for the kids to select.

VLC now is reported to have been fixed for STBs so I will migrate over.

If you need a very simple webserver (windows) IM me.

BTW: anyone know where to purchase remotes or IR keyboards? (USA)

:D

VLC with the latest live555.com library certainly does work with Amino STBs - Basic playback and pause functionality is supported, but at this stage fast-forward and rewind is not supported (at present VLC ignores the Scale header supplied with RTSP PLAY requests).

It may be worthwhile simply contacting Amino Communications directly (http://www.aminocom.com) - I don't know the cost of remotes individually, but I know that the list price of the infra-red keyboards is only around $20.00 USD.
