I want to recording streaming video

Postby pengyou54 » 08 May 2006 20:58

I used VLC to receive streaming H.264 video data wrapped by mp4 standard. I tried recorded it from its wizard feature. However it didn't work for H.264 video file and do work for MPEG4 video file, although they are wrapped by MPEG4 system stream.

Could anyone tell me how to do it or what other way to achieve it?

Thank you in advance!

In order to receive help, you have to give symptoms. "However it didn't work" is hardly enough information for people to figure out what is wrong...

Can you tell us a bit more?

recording H.264 streaming video

Postby pengyou54 » 10 May 2006 15:13

I have Darwin Streaming Server to stream H.264 Video file encapsulated by MP4 system stream format like rtsp://x.x.x.x/h264.mp4. In the receiver side, I started VLC to save it to a file. The procedure is as follows:
1. Go to File and then Wizard.
2. Check the box of Transcode/Save to file and then click Next.
3. I chosed a network connection and check the rtsp streaming with typing
rtsp://x.x.x.x/h264.mp4.
4. Then I check transcode video box and choose H 264 or Dummy as codec,
and 1024 kb/s. Click Next
5. check MP4 as encapsulation format. click next
6. Select a file name and Click Finish

However, VLC can't save a streaming H.264 video file to a file on the hard drive.

I need any help to get over this problem, or tell me where to find the solution!

Thank you so much in advance!
