Support for playing movies in the dock?

So I got no response about the fading to and from fullscreen, but how about support for playing movies in the dock?

In Windows, I often use the taskband feature of Windows Media Player to look at movies while I work or do other things. I miss that in OS X since Quicktime doesn't play many formats.
