The BeOS version of VLC suffers from severe audio aliasing when playing back movies. This happens on standard R5.
Furthermore, the 0.44 version didn't introduce dropouts in the audio playback, in the messages: audiobuffer(?) starved playing back silence. This happens with any audio stream.
VLC for windows on the same machine plays everything fine, except for the reencoded to mpeg4 DVB-S stream over multicast in which the audio pitch tends to fluctuate during playback.
